I want to talk about two things today. One is about my wanting to be Elizabeth Montgomery in Bewitched and the other is about the beauty of the moon.
When I woke up this morning, I was really slow, which is not surprising to those who know me. I normally get my groove on about 10 or so after having 2 cups of coffee and entertaining my working partners in getting a few things done. Do you ever think about stuff like this in the shower? I thought, I could paint a picture just by jiggling my nose like lissy....hmmmm...weird....on to the next thing...the moon came up tonight about midnight on the horizon. There is nothing like the moon rise until you've been on Amelia Island. It is a magnificent sight; something you have to see if you ever visit. Anyway, while I was looking at the moon rising, just after the last Sugarbakers left tonight, I was thinking, I should paint this. Then, I quickly realized that capturing the moon glow could be a challenge. The moon goes from a warm glow on the horizon to a red orange, then pink and lavender and it keeps changing every single moment. It made me think about other things I paint. A moment in time is what I like to paint. Whether it is my dog's wet tongue or my father in law's funny but cute smile in a certain sunlight, that is what I try to capture. Life is what I think they call it. :)
